the bolognese school

Between 1860 and 1960 Italy was a country rich in musical events.  At that time, a lot of violin makers, starting from the classical patterns, with great creativity, developed and created individual styles.
Bologna, cultural center of Emilia Romagna, developed a real "Bolognese School" with a recognizable pattern and a different method of building the sides of the instrument using the outside mould (or French) leading to a different idea for making the whole instrument.

The founder of this modern school is Raffaele Fiorini.
